ADL statement about the Visit
of the United Nations UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights
We, the Alliance for Democracy in Laos, and the people of the Lao People's Republic and the worldwide Lao community
We were very happy and welcome the results of the visit to the Lao People's Republic the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights as independent Expert from UN HR Council from 18 to 28 March 2019 and ended with a press conference held at the UN building Vientiane on March 28, 2019
With his report, the truth was told about human rights violations and extreme poverty of the population, this has been hushed up by the rulers in the Lao PDR so far.
After many years of working with the people of Laos and thus ADL, we have the hard work of mortifying and donating to change in Laos to democracy, now the success is close to us.
We hope that the new mechanism from the UN HR Council with the complaints from the people about the rulers in the Lao PDR will be given to the UNHR Council to put pressure on, hoping that the people will get more human rights and become one Change will lead to democracy, to the well-being of the nation.
